The city of
Sevilla has got many buildings and places which are landmarks emblems of
Sevilla and the Andalusian culture. In the centre of the city the Giralda
localites that is Cathedral’s bell tower. During the Islam age, it was an old
Mosque’s minaret.
The Giralda
has been the tallest tower in Europe for several centuries. Tower of Pisa or
the famous Big Ben are smaller than the Andalusian tower. It shows off about
many architectural styles in its figure.
People from
Sevilla have always been proud of this tower, but in 1987, the Giralda was considered
like Mankind’s Heritage. So, they declare having a wonder in the city.
Therefore,
all the tourists want to take a picture with the Giralda. But they want to
climb up the Giralda’s last floor too. It is worth the effort to climb up 76 metres
for enjoying with beautiful views of all Sevilla.
In the end,
the Giralda is a meeting point between the history in the present and between
Andalusian and Spanish culture with other people from the world. This building
was imitated in important cities like New York or Kansas. Any Spanish person recognizes
the Giralda. Besides, it is one the most characteristic monument in Spain.
